Mentmore Arts Festival 2013
25th – 27th May Bank Holiday

The Festival in 2011 achieved record sales and raised £5000 for nominated local charities including the Scannappeal at High Wycombe, Joss Parke’s appeal, St Mary’s Church redecoration fund and local village causes.
One of the main benefiting causes in 2011 includes the Scannappeal which it is estimated every 10 minutes a patient in the local area is diagnosed or treated with equipment funded by the Scannappeal. This equates to over 70,000 people a year so almost everyone probably knows someone who has benefitted from the work of the Scannappeal.
The Arts festival started in 2008 and in that time has generated in excess of £19,500 for local good causes.
The key to the success of this event is due to; the generous donations from supporters including local business and residents in the surrounding villages.
The 30 + volunteers involved in the days before, during and after who give their own time to help.
The involvement of a great many people from the small local community and a truly committed committee who start planning and organising the event over a year in advance.
The planning and research for the 2013 event has begun with the committee working to build on the success of the last four years to develop the event to provide a number of new opportunities and include activities on the Village Green. In 2013 exhibition opportunities will include sculpture, pottery, glass, photography, ceramics and pictures and paintings created in a diverse range of mediums. There is also the potential for music and entertainment to form a key part of the event.
There will also be an opportunity for demonstrations, arts classes and workshops. The Festival of art promises to be more diverse and incorporate both individual activities and entertainment.
