Jane Chambers – Painter
I chose to train as a nurse rather than go to art
college and have spent the last twenty five years
as a full time mother. Ten years ago I went to
weekly art classes with John Hull and discovered
and fell in love with watercolour. My passion for
gardening, the countryside and flowers inspires
my work.

Amanda Curbishley – Painter
I am a local artist that enjoys experimenting with
colour, texture and media. My love of creative
activities leads me to attend various artistic
workshops enabling me to continue developing as
an artist. Subjects include still life, landscapes and
life painting. I mostly work in acrylics and mixed
media. Working from a home studio and a local
art group, my work has been exhibited and sold at
various art exhibitions in Buckinghamshire.

Nyree Kavanagh – Painter
Having worked in the media for many years I decided to pursue a more personal artistic expression through painting. To be free from commercial constraints I feel liberated and my work at the moment is concerned with simple everyday objects painted in a straightforward almost faux naive style. Stella Parslow – Painter
Stella is a self taught artist who started painting
with Enamel on Ivorine ( imitation Ivory) and
Eggshells. Her first exhibitions were The Royal
Academy Summer Exhibition (Miniatures Section)
and the Medici Gallery, London. From these
beginnings she has experimented extensively with
techniques of watercolour and gouache, creating a
unique collection of detailed fine work which has
been widely published.

years now but have only recently started to

Edward Stamp – Painter
Edward has taken the opportunity at this
year’s festival to exhibit a selection of his wood
engravings, as well as his paintings.
The engravings are made on the end grain of
Boxwood blocks and proofed and printed on
fine paper. All printing is done by the artist on his
American cyclinder press in editions of 75.

Veronica Stewart – Photographer
Veronica Stewart is a fine art photographer based
in Buckland Village. As an expatriate Scot, much
of Stewart’s work examines issues of identity
and belonging; nostalgia and longing. She will be

After studying Art ‘A’ level at school I followed
a completely different career path. I promised
myself that I would have the opportunity to take
up painting once I retired! Since retirement I have
